You feel the rush of fresh water hit your back. Running down your soft skin, water droplets are being caressed by the suns warm rays. Perfect bliss one might think. Thoughts are free, swimming with emotions of love in this bottomless ocean. You're at the surface of everything, of everything you have ever aspired to be. The perceptions of yourself are clearly viewed in the reflection of this salty water. Life is right above you, waiting for you, taunting you. To sink to the bottom of everything is easy, simple. You feel the weight of the world sink deeper as not only your back hits the water, but your entire body is slowly withering into the depths of the ocean. You look to the surface, it's a mirror. You see yourself, your first ballet recital, your mother's eyes of ice, your father's heart of gold, you see everything. Failures, lost hopes, stolen dreams, disappointments, accomplishments. You see beauty. You see what you want to see. You sink deeper into the cool waves. Something is calling you, taunting you. It softly whispers demands into your heart. Sharp pain inflicts on your hands, slowly working its way through your legs. You have become lifeless, no control over your body. Your mind has been set free. You look up, you see the pale skin floating above, wild hair flowing with the waves. You sink deeper into what appeared to be an innocent afternoon. As you sink, you begin to loose everything that has ever built your character. They slowly wither to the top with your body. Moist, wet sand greets your hands. You've hit rock bottom. The surface seems so close, but you cannot reach it. It's an illusion to tease your honour, your mind. You feel the reality of being at such a bottom. Nothing. You are alone. Everything that has ever defined you as a person, is lost, as spectacles in the ocean water. This is what you've always been...
Alone.
